Join us on January 29 for a Public Forum
Crash data shows an alarming trend in our region – deaths and serious injuries on our roads are on the rise. In 2021 and 2022, traffic deaths climbed to approximately 130 and 140 in the Boston Region respectively each year – a 40% increase from the period between 2017 and 2020. The most vulnerable roadway users – pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists – accounted for approximately 1/3 of the lives lost in the Boston Region in the past five years.
The Boston Region MPO is developing a Vision Zero Action Plan to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries for all roadway users. Join us on Wednesday, January 29, at 6:00 PM to find out more and get involved.
At the forum, you will learn about the region’s traffic safety data – including the location and reasons behind crashes in the region. We also want to understand your perspectives about roadway safety challenges and concerns.
